Code of Conduct

At Eastside Improv, we are dedicated to fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants and audience members. We believe that everyone deserves to enjoy the magic of improv comedy while feeling physically and emotionally secure. To ensure this, we have established the following Code of Conduct that applies to all our shows, jam, and events.

Respect and Kindness

Treat every individual with respect, kindness, and empathy. Our community thrives on positive interactions, and we encourage you to support each other's growth and creativity.

Inclusivity

Embrace diversity in all its forms – including but not limited to race, gender expression, age, sexual orientation, and ability. We welcome everyone to join our improv community and celebrate our differences.

Safe Space

We strive to create spaces that are as psychologically and physically as possible. Offensive language, behavior, or actions that may cause any harm to others will not be tolerated.

Physical Safety

Prioritize the safety of yourself and others. Avoid actions that could cause physical harm or discomfort. If you're unsure about a certain action, consult with your fellow improvisers or the jam facilitator.

Emotional Safety

Be mindful of the impact of your words and actions on others' feelings. Avoid using offensive or hurtful language that may make someone uncomfortable or distressed.

Contactless Jams

We do no-touch improv at Jams, in which attendees can expect not to make contact with other attendees.

No Egos

Come with an open mind and be ready to learn. There is no space for egos at Eastside Improv.

Reporting & Enforcement

If you witness or experience any behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it to any jam leader or board member. We are committed to addressing any concerns promptly and taking necessary actions to ensure a safe environment.

Zero Tolerance

We have zero-tolerance for harassment or abuse of any kind. You will be asked to leave our show/jam if you are in violation of this Code of Conduct.

Above all, have fun and enjoy the world of improv! We are here to create laughter, forge connections, and provide an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
